COYOTE RIDGE CORRECTIONS CENTER PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM REPAIR

PCI Renewables was referred through one of its manufacturing partners to evaluate a 77.76kW thin film PV system at the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center. During a late night windstorm, the PV system was damaged when a large rain gutter pulled loose from the edge of the building, impacting the membrane roof and PV array. The gutter also severed conduits pulled them from their respective junction boxes. Consequently, the system was shut down. The initial on-site assessment determined that due to the type of module used, the repair should be conducted in two phases. Each module was tested prior to being placed back online; failed modules were isolated from the array. Over 95% of the system was able to be placed back online.
